TESTIMONIAL: Rosie

"Shortly after adopting our dog, Rosie, from the Eleventh Hour Rescue we realized that she had some issues. We thought she was just anxious and needed to get used to our family, but unfortunately within a few weeks she had air snapped at my 4 year old daughter twice. Since Rosie was so sweet and well-behaved, we wanted to see what we could do to avoid a third incident and possible return. Returning a rescue dog was something unimaginable to us, so after a lot of debate between my husband and I, we decided to contact Eleventh Hour to see if they had any advice for us. We were referred to Debra DeCastro, certified dog trainer. She spent hours speaking to both my husband and I as we agonized over this decision.

We decided to have an in-home evaluation to confirm our decision. She spent two hours at our house evaluating both Rosie and our two daughters, ages 4 and 7, and how all 3 of them interact with each other. Debby felt that Rosie was not aggressive at all, but had a lot of fear and trust issues which could definitely be addressed. We were relieved by her evaluation and have now had Rosie for a little over three months. Debby has taught us to read some of Rosie's body language and how to work on the behaviors of both Rosie and our daughters. It is still a work in-progress, but with Debby's help, we trust that this work will help keep our entire family together for years to come."
